October 2, 2017

United Heartland, a leading national workers’ compensation insurance company, announced today that it will offer workers’ compensation insurance in South Dakota effective immediately.  The move reflects the continued expansion of the company’s footprint in the central U.S.  It currently markets its products in 18 core states.

“Our entry into the South Dakota market reaffirms our assertion that there is a need for the high-touch, customer service-focused approach to workers’ compensation that United Heartland excels at providing,” said Steve Cooper, president of United Heartland.  “Additionally, it is important for United Heartland to align with agency partners who value our high-touch service model which allows us to be nimble and responsive to customer needs.”

Under the guidance of Tracy Bain, regional director for the Milwaukee region, the United Heartland team will explore opportunities for appointing agents and identifying qualified customers within the state of South Dakota.

“Our goal is to work with South Dakota agency partners who share United Heartland’s focus on our six key business segments – education, healthcare, long-term care, manufacturing, nonprofits/social services and wholesale/retail,” said Bain. “We are confident our value proposition and tireless commitment to controlling our customer’s total cost of risk will be attractive to potential customers in the state.”
